FIVE people have been arrested after a burglary.

A 29-year-old woman reported the burglary in Sultan Road, in Buckland, to police at 8.11pm last night.

A spokesman for Hampshire police said officers are making enquiries including at an address in Copnor Road. Nothing was taken in the burglary.

It comes as officers taped off the Toby Carvery, in Copnor Road, Hilsea, last night.

Sean Newman went past the pub at around 6.45am today.

He said: ‘The whole of the pub garden had white and blue police marking tape around the edge.

‘A police car was parked on the pavement on the road side and a police van was in the car park.’

The police spokesman added: ‘Five people have been arrested in connection to this incident on suspicion of offences including burglary.

‘Enquiries have continued overnight, including at an address on Copnor Road, as part of this ongoing investigation.
