THIEVES have stolen two of a professional triathlete’s bikes that are vital to his training.

A side gate was forced open to gain access to the rear of the home in Anglers Way, Lower Swanwick, where a window was smashed to enter the house, between May 17 and 19.

A laptop and camera were taken from inside the house, and a Cube bikes Assection mountain bike worth £700 and a Planet X SL Carbon Pro road bike worth £1,500 were taken from the garage.

Det Con Gemma Hunter said: ‘We are keen to speak to anyone who make have noticed suspicious activity in the area. The owner of the property is a professional triathlete and the bikes are very important to his training.’
