JEWELLERY of great sentimental value and a distinctive bag were stolen from a home in a burglary.

Detectives are appealing for information to reunite the owners with the stolen items.

They were taken from an address in Stubbington Avenue, North End, Portsmouth, between 9.30am and 6.10pm on Friday.

Police say initial enquiries suggest a suspect would have been carrying a beige laundry bag with a black rhino motif.

Detective Constable Charlie Cox said: ‘The laundry bag is quite distinctive and the burglary took place near a pre-school during daylight hours.

‘Did you see anyone carrying the bag or behaving suspiciously on that day?’

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact CID at Fratton police station by phoning 101.
