A DRINK-DRIVER was caught after his car ran out of petrol.

Jonathan Viney, 28, of Silver Birch Drive, Bognor, spent the evening of December 5 drinking beer and spirits at a pub before deciding to drive home.

But his car broke down and he walked to a petrol station.

When Viney returned to his Fiat Brava at 2am, December 6, Sussex Police officers were there.

They breathalysed him and found 86mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The limit is 35mg.

Viney pleaded guilty to drink-driving and was banned from driving for 46 months, fined £110 and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
