Banned driver caught on Portsmouth roads four times

A DRIVER caught on the roads four times while disqualified has avoided prison.

Stuart Forbes was caught twice in Eastern Road on June 13, again on June 21 and on Portsdown Hill Road on June 22. The 40-year-old was found guilty of four counts of driving while disqualified and four counts of no insurance in relation to the BMW 520d he was driving.

Portsmouth magistrates also found Forbes guilty of failing to give information relating to the identity of the driver of a vehicle and his vehicle’s tyres not being at least 1.6mm depth.

The bench imposed a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years,

Forbes, of Farlington Avenue, Farlington, must complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities and 200 hours of unpaid work.

He was banned again for three years and must pay a £115 victim surcharge and £625 prosecution costs.

Forbes had denied all the charges against him but was found guilty last month.
