A BANNED driver who got back behind the wheel after drinking has been put on a curfew.

David Barrett was stopped by the police as he drove a Fiat Bravo in Rowner Road, Gosport. Checks revealed the 24-year-old was disqualified from driving and did not have any insurance. A breathalyser test revealed he had 44 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

Barrett, of Station Road, Park Gate, admitted drink-driving, driving while disqualified and without a licence and admitted breaching his community order when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Barrett was banned from driving for another three years. He must stay at home between 7pm and 7am for the next three months.
