REGIONAL: Mother facing murder charge after three-year-old daughter drowns

THE body found in Langstone Harbour is that of missing Hampshire man Ben Hilton, police have confirmed.

His body was discovered in the slip way near the Harbour Master’s office in Ferry Road at around 9am yesterday morning.

Mr Hilton, 33, of Sopwith Road in Eastleigh, had not been seen since Friday, June 8.

He had attended a wedding in Winchester before being seen on the staff side of the Wighlink catamaran jetty at Portsmouth Harbour later that evening.

A police spokesman said: ‘We’d like to thank all of you who publicised our appeal to try and find Ben.

‘We are supporting Ben’s family at this difficult time’.
