A body found in a river in Prague has been identified as missing Fareham man Karl Law.
The grim news was confirmed in the Czech capital after a three-week search for the Fareham dad.
Yesterday afternoon, Czech police had announced that a body had been found in the Vltava river, but Karl’s relatives were confident from the clothing that it was not him.
The devastating report came as Karl’s mum flew out to Prague to help find the 34-year-old, who went missing in the city on November 15.
Karl, who has a fiancée and three-year-old son Lenny, went missing last month while in Prague for his cousin’s stag do.
Since his disappearance, Karl’s family have been running a search campaign in the Czech capital and hired a private investigator.
A Foreign Office spokesman said today: ‘We can confirm the death of a British national, who was reported missing in Prague, and are in touch with the local authorities.
‘We are in close contact with the family and are providing consular assistance at this difficult time.’
Within minutes of the news being confirmed, tributes to Karl poured in.
