A BODY has been found in Portsmouth in the search for a missing man.

Police looking for James David Barrett are investigating the discovery of a body by a member of the public in the Foxes Forest area of Hilsea Lines this afternoon.

Mr Barrett, known as David, was last seen leaving his home in Simpson Road, Stamshaw, at about 5.15pm on Friday.

His family were worried about him as he had dementia and diabetes.

The discovery of the body is not being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesman said: ‘While formal identification is yet to be made, Mr Barrett’s family has been notified by police and our thoughts are with them at this time.’
