A BODY has been found at a nature reserve near a holiday park.

The woman’s body was found earlier this afternoon on the beach at Medmerry Nature Reserve, in Selsey.

The site is close to Bunn Leisure’s West Sands Caravan Park and police cars were seen driving through the area.

A spokesman for Sussex police said: ‘The body of a woman has been found amongst rocks on the beach at Selsey.

‘Police were alerted by a fisherman who spotted the body just before 1pm.

‘An ambulance paramedic has confirmed that the woman is sadly dead. Initial indications are that she is middle-aged.

‘There is currently no indication as to the cause of death, but it is not being treated as suspicious at this time.’

A statement from Bunn Leisure said: ‘We were saddened to be notified early this afternoon that a body had been found on the shoreline at Medmerry Nature Reserve. ‘The site is not part of the holiday park but police were given access via the Bunn Leisure site so they could reach the area.’
