Body found in police search for missing Hampshire man

A body has found during the investigation into a missing man from Hampshire, police have confirmed.

Alexander Hayter has not been seen since leaving his home in Manor Close, in Abbotts Ann near Andover, at about 3pm on Saturday.

In a police statement his family said the 21-year-old’s disappearance was out of character and they were extremely worried about his welfare.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson has since confirmed a body was founds by officers on Sunday

A statement said: ‘Formal identification has not yet taken place, but his family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

‘The death is not being treated as suspicious.’

Alexander had not been contact with his family since he vanished.

He was last seen wearing a blue Nike baseball cap, dark jacket and dark trousers. It is also believed he had on a green t-shirt and trainers.
