THIEVES have stolen thousands of pounds worth of copper piping from a building site.

Police are appealing for information after £3,000 worth of the piping was taken from a new health centre being built in Wickham.

The piping was taken during the early hours of Wednesday as someone is believed to have broken into the Mill Lane building site between 3.50am and 5.10am.

PC Jonathan Earnshaw, from Winchester rural targeted patrol team, said: ‘I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area recently or who may have been offered copper for sale.’
