Burglar jailed for targeting Chinese takeaway in Waterlooville

A BURGLAR who devastated a takeaway by breaking in twice has been jailed.

Lucas Corke, 43, of Warnford Crescent, Leigh Park, stole a till and around cash £172 from The Light, a Chinese takeaway, on July 5.

He returned two days later on July 7 to the business in London Road, Waterlooville, and struck again.

Portsmouth magistrates jailed him for eight months partly due to his previous convictions.

He was told the business was struggling financially during the current climate.

Corke must pay a £122 victim surcharge.

Corke admitted two charges of burglary. The second burglary was entering the building with intent to steal.
