A HAUL of jewellery was stolen after burglars raided a bungalow in Waterlooville.

Detectives are investigating a break-in in Southdown View.

The 59-year-old woman living at the house had gone out and crooks broke in by damaging the back door.

Once inside, the offenders locked the front door so no-one could get in.

The property was ransacked and the crooks made off with a pair of small gold butterfly earrings, a pair of blue stud earrings with a matching necklace containing a blue stone, and a silver brooch of an owl on a crescent moon.

Police say a man was seen knocking on the victim’s front door at about 10.45am last Friday.

He was white, aged between 18 to 25 years, 5ft 8in, with short hair.

He wore jeans and a dark blue or black top.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw a dark blue or dark green hatchback car parked in the public car park at the end of Southdown View. Call 101.
