DETECTIVES are hunting for clues after two burglaries.

The thefts in Gosport on the same day could be linked, according to police.

The first burglary, in Grove Road, Forton, happened between 8.30am and 7.10pm.

The back doors were forced open at the home, which is lived in by a 56-year-old man.

It is not clear what was stolen. And the second happened in Molesworth Road between 1pm and 10pm.

The burglar forced their way through the kitchen window and stole a jewellery box and its contents from the home, which is lived in by a 65-year-old woman.

Detective Constable Dermot McBride said: ‘Do you have any information which you believe maybe connected to these crimes?’ Call 101.
