The Brewhouse and Kitchen have now said that they have had ‘very strong leads come through’ following the appeal and are working with the police.

The pub added that the ‘community have been hugely supportive in the investigation’.

The burglary happened on sometime between 4am and 9am on Wednesday, November 14.

A man entered the premises and caused £10,000 worth of damage and stolen various items, including items of sentimental value from the residential area of the pub.

Will Morris, operations manager for Brewhouse & Kitchen’s Southern locations said: ‘We’re naturally disappointed and frustrated to have been a victim of this crime.

‘We’ve recruited a great team of passionate people locally to bring Brewhouse & Kitchen Southsea to life and they’ve shown great pride and ownership in the pub since team training started on site so were also very saddened by the theft and subsequent damage caused.

‘We’ll certainly not let this incident lower any levels of excitement on our upcoming opening in Southsea as we can’t wait to be a part of what is a vibrant food and drink scene locally, I’m happy to report that any internal damage has already been repaired and we’ll still be opening to the public on Monday 3rd December as planned.’

The appeal on the pub’s Facebook page reads: ‘A man broke in to our lovely new brewpub on Wednesday 14th November, and there was theft and damage up to the value of £10K.

‘Brewhouse & Kitchen is offering a reward of a free pint every day for a year to the first person to positively identify this man.

‘Once identified we will also make a donation to the Royal Navy.

‘Please DM us or email southsea@brewhouseandkitchen with any information – and if you could share this post it so we can catch this man would be much appreciated!’

Police said that the suspect is described as being:

- White man

- 25-35-years-old

- Slim build

He was wearing black glasses or goggles, black jacket, black trousers, black baseball cap, red and white neck scarf, red backpack and black shoes.
