POLICE have released this CCTV picture of a man stealing garden furniture in Southsea.

He is seen entering the garden of a house in Victoria Road South and stealing items including two large wooden garden chairs, nine halogen lights and an ornamental owl.

The raid happened before midnight on Thursday, April 18.

Investigating officer, PC Richard Puttock said: ‘The wooden garden chairs do not fold flat, so it is believed that they may have been removed in a van.

‘If anyone has been offered any garden chairs or possibly purchased some at a car boot sale could they contact police?’

He added: ‘As the warm weather approaches, please ensure that your gardens are as secure as possible and that sheds and any outbuilding or garages remain locked.’

Anyone with information can contact PC Puttock at Fratton Police Station by phoning 101. Or information can be given to Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
