A MIDDLE-aged woman is beginning a seven-month jail term for running a cannabis factory.

Police discovered 30 mature cannabis plants at 51-year-old Lorraine Langridge’s former home, in Clarence Road, Bognor, after they raided the house in December 2009.

Smaller plants and other cannabis production equipment was found in a cupboard under the stairs and £3,000 cash was seized.

Langridge, of Southover Road, Bognor, pleaded guilty at Chichester Crown Court to cannabis production and was given a 14-month prison sentence with seven months of it suspended.

Edwards Brooks, 42, of the same address, pleaded guilty on December 9 to being concerned in the production of cannabis.

He was sentenced to 70 hours unpaid work, a four-month curfew between 10pm and 6am, to another Bognor address, and an electronic tag.
