CANNABIS was seized at a flat in Sedgley Close, Somers Town after police got a warrant to search the home.
During the search, police found a man in his 20s who lived at the flat and gave him a £90 on-the-spot fine.
Sergeant Rob Sutton of the St Thomas Neighbourhood Policing Team would not say exactly how much of the drug was found, but said it was ‘a quantity that would be classed as for personal use only.’
Sgt Sutton said police got the warrant from Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
It was prompted by information received through Crimestoppers and reports from the community.
Sgt Sutton said: ‘We won’t allow drug dealing in our community. We want to make it safe and we want it to be a hostile environment for criminals to operate in.’

Sgt Sutton said that while police were searching the house, police community support officers were visiting neighbours and letting them know what was happening to reassure them and gather more information.
