THIEVES who stole a car containing a treasured collection of figurines are being hunted by police.

The Ford Fiesta was taken from a property in Drift Road, Bognor Regis.

It contained three holdalls with a large number of painted models in – predominantly figurines of soldiers and other military personnel.

The victim was due to take the models to an exhibition when they were stolen between 7.30pm on May 21 and 8am on May 22.

Police community support officer Aaron Owen said: ‘Despite ongoing enquiries and efforts none of the models have been retrieved, however the vehicle was located in the Mulberry Court area of Pagham on Monday May 31.

‘We are working to track down the missing items and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen individuals acting suspiciously or have knowledge of others who may have come into possession of similar items.’
