Car, jewellery and laptop stolen in Gosport burglaries

A CAR was stolen from a driveway following a series of burglaries in Gosport.

Police are investigating after a necklace and laptop were also stolen over a 10-day period.

The first burglary happened between 6pm on September 1 and 7.45pm on September 7 when a window was smashed to gain entry.

Jewellery, including a gold chain with an apple-shaped ruby, was taken from the house on Beechcroft Road.

Then, between 3pm on September 7 and 6.45pm the following day, someone broke through a window at the pavilion in Gosport Park and stole a laptop.

Finally, at some point between 12.45am and 1.15am this morning, someone broke into a house on Rothesay Road and stole a set of keys.

A Skoda Fabia was later taken from the driveway.

A spokesman from police said: '˜We are carrying out enquiries to ascertain if any of these incidents are linked to any other reports we have received and members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out regular patrols.'
