Students left concerned after 20-year-old man suffers ‘serious injuries’

POLICE are hunting this robber who held up a shop with a knife.

He entered the One Stop in Chichester Road, Portsmouth, at about 7.45pm on Tuesday and stood holding what appeared to be a large knife.

The robber demanded money from staff and an undisclosed amount of cash was handed over.

Police have now released CCTV of the robber in the hope of tracking him down.

Detective Constable Steve Bourne said: ‘This was a serious incident which has left staff shaken.

‘There were a number of witnesses in the store while the incident took place.

‘We are appealing to any other witnesses who may have seen the offender before or after the incident to come forward. We believe the man ran away from the store down Farlington Road.’

The man is white, in his early to mid-20s, slim, about 6ft 1in and was wearing a dark grey tracksuit with pale blue stripes on the legs and arms with white trainers.

A dark balaclava or scarf covered his face. Call police on 101 if you can help.
