THIS man is wanted in connection with the theft of alcohol from a supermarket.

A man entered the Lidl store in Station Road, Petersfield, and fled with three bottles of rum.

Staff members followed him to Petersfield train station where they challenged him and the stolen items were returned before he ran off.

Now this CCTV image has been released by police probing the theft, which happened on Saturday afternoon.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘Police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation. Anyone who recognises the man should contact PC Tom Waller at Petersfield police station by calling 101.
