THIS man is wanted for questioning over the theft of cash from a newsagent.
A man approached the counter of Queen’s Parade News, in Privett Road, Gosport at around 4.30pm on Sunday.
He demanded the shop assistant gave him money from the till.
After the worker gave him the cash, he left the shop and drove off in what is thought to have been a dark blue Rover 25.
The car made off in the direction of the roundabout by the Cocked Hat pub.
It had twin headlights and a silver surround to its front grille.
PC Mark Brenson, from Gosport police station, said: ‘I would appeal to anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV to contact police as we would like to speak to him in connection with this offence.
‘Crimes like this are rare, but the young girl working in the shop was extremely frightened and upset and the theft will have a significant impact on the small business.’
The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 45 and 55.
He was of a medium to heavy build, between 5ft 7ins and 6ft tall and had dark brown hair which is receding at the crown and thinning on top.
He wore a dark blue jumper with a similar coloured shirt underneath, stone coloured trousers and sand-coloured shoes.
Anyone with information should call PC Brenson on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
