SUSPECTED robbers wanted for a jewellery store raid in Sheffield are being hunted by police who believe they may be in the Portsmouth area.

Detectives investigating the alleged armed robbery have issued CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The suspects are believed to have strong connection to the south of England.

HL Brown Jewellers in Barkers Pool, Sheffield, was raided at around 11am on Tuesday, September 23.

Three men armed with sledgehammers allegedly entered the store and threatened staff before smashing glass cases and escaping with more than £100,000 worth of Rolex watches.

While the men left the store on foot, it is believed they got into a silver Citroen C3 after a short distance and drove off.

Officers are keen to locate the two men pictured, as it is believed they hold information that could assist with enquiries.

One man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

James May, 27, of Bromley in London, was charged with robbery on Friday, November 14 and remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court at a later date.
