CCTV released after thieves break into Southsea tearoom

THIEVES used a pickaxe to break into a tearoom - but left empty-handed.

CCTV footage captured two men breaking into the Parade Tearooms, in Western Parade, Southsea, on October 21.

Hampshire police released the stills today in a bid to boost an appeal for witnesses.

A police spokesman said: 'A pickaxe was used to force entry and a search was made of the building.'

Nothing was taken in the break-in.

PC Michael Cox said: 'We would like to speak to anyone who thinks they might recognise the two men shown on the CCTV images.

'The images are really clear so we hope that someone will know who they are as we believe they will have information to assist our investigation.'
