THIS image has been released by police who want to speak to the man pictured.

Hampshire police said a silver Ford Mondeo taxi was stolen in Portsmouth and found dumped.

It was found in Stanley Avenue, Copnor, at around 12.20am on Friday and was last seen at 11pm on Thursday. A police statement said: ‘The car was left with damage to the clutch and the driver’s takings were stolen after a man who had been a fare moments earlier stole the taxi.’

The police said the man pictured in the CCTV had been picked up in Osborne Road, Southsea, and taken to Stride Avenue, in Copnor.
