POLICE want to speak to this man after he was caught on CCTV setting fire to items outside a charity.

The Elizabeth Foundation, in Southwick Hill Road, Cosham, helps deaf children and babies learn to listen and talk.

CCTV from the charity, which is close to Queen Alexandra Hospital, show a man, putting a number of items outside the main entrance and setting fire to them.

This caused fire damage to the outside of the building and destroyed a display board.

PC David Tester said: ‘Without the timely intervention of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, this fire could have caused devastating damage to a valuable facility which is dedicated to helping children with hearing problems.’

It happened between 5.30pm and 5.45pm on Saturday, May 16.

The man is white, in his mid 30s and has receding brown hair. He was wearing a grey T shirt, dark red trousers and white Nike trainers.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Tester on 101 or call the charity Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
