A PILOT for Hovertravel was arrested on suspicion of being above the alcohol limit while on duty.

Hampshire Constabulary said that a man in his 50s from the Isle of Wight was arrested under the Railways and Transport Safety Act, for the incident which took place on June 22.

A spokesman said: ‘The man was interviewed by officers and given police bail until a date in mid-July, pending further enquiries.

‘We’re working with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency to establish whether any criminal offences have been committed.’
