MUM Tracy Lyons who was jailed for her role in a nursery paedophile ring has been attacked in prison.

Police are investigating after Lyons, 41, was punched by fellow prisoners at privately-managed Bronzefield jail.

A spokeswoman for Sodexo Justice Services which runs the prison in Ashford, Middlesex, said of the attack on the mum-of-nine: ‘We can confirm that there was an incident involving three prisoners, where one prisoner sustained minor injuries.

‘The matter has been referred to the police to be investigated.’

Lyons, from Hewett Road, North End, Portsmouth, is serving a seven-year jail term for her part in a paedophile ring that met on social networking website Facebook.

She was one of four women who sent vile images to the group’s leader Colin Blanchard, 40, from Rochdale,

Lyons – who gave birth to her ninth child in custody – was jailed in January alongside Blanchard, and another woman, Tracy Dawber, 44, from Southport.

Dawber was attacked while serving time at Bronzefield in February.
