Child exploitation comes under the spotlight

AN EVENT will aim to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation.

Active Communities Network (ACN) will be bringing a hard-hitting play, Chelsea’s Choice, to Leigh Park.

The production will be staged in the theatre at Park Community School on May 25.

The charity Big World Impact recently merged with ACN and aims to improve the prospects of young people living on the estate.

Charlotte Bishop, programme manager for ACN, said: ‘We are able to bring the highly recommended Chelsea’s Choice play to Leigh Park and offer a performance to agencies and organisations free of charge for those that work with young people in the Leigh Park, Havant and Hayling Island area.

‘This is thanks to funding from Office of Police Crime Commissioner and Artswork.

‘The play is a powerful and impactive production highlighting the serious issue of child sexual exploitation.’

ACN is working with Havant police and Barnardos to raise awareness about the issue.

Ms Bishop added: ‘We are inviting organisations to attend this play.’
