Police are appealing for witnesses after a black Ford Fiesta was broken into in Portsmouth and climbing equipment was stolen.

A rucksack, containing the equipment worth £95, was taken from the car on Sunday, March 15 between 4.45 and 5.15pm.

The car, which had its window smashed, belonged to a 19-year-old-man and was parked in the car park of the Harvester restaurant on Eastern Road.

Police say the only potential suspect is someone who was wearing a grey tracksuit and have urged anyone with any information to contact them on 101 and quote Crime Reference Number 44150088642.
