Complaint made against police '˜racism' on travellers
POLICE are investigating one of their own posters over claims of racism against the traveller community.
It comes after travellers moved on to the D-Day Museum car park in Portsmouth last weekend and had been in Portchester and Stubbington in the days beforehand.
The probe centres around a police poster in Hythe, which encouraged residents to boycott travellers’ business.
The Traveller Movement charity has lodged an official complaint. A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said it has been passed to the Professional Standards Department.
