A BLUE bag containing toiletries could hold the key to catching a burglar.

The carrier bag was left by a crook who broke into a house in Southwood Road, Hayling Island.

The burglar got into the home through an unlocked back door and ransacked the property.

The haul included a white Giant mountain bike, an Xbox console, a gold and platinum wedding band and a silver and gold-plated Tag Heuer bracelet watch.

Police are seeking information following the burglary, which happened between 6.45am and 11pm on Easter Saturday.

They are keen to speak to anybody in the area at the time who saw somebody carrying a blue bag or from local shops that use blue bags. Call Waterlooville police station on 101.
