In the courts: Latest cases

Daniel Breecher, of Henderson Road, Eastney, pleaded guilty to four counts of theft and two counts of committing an offence while on a conditional discharge.

The 25-year old was given a 16-week prison sentence after appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Breecher stole two tubs of SMA Baby Milk, value £19.50, from Boots in Portsmouth on October 23, underwear and socks worth £43.50 from Sports Direct in Portsmouth on October 29, electrical goods worth £168 from Boots in Fareham on November 3, and Blu Ray discs worth £59 from Asda in Southampton on November 4.

Aaron Balchin, of Fell Drive, Lee-on-the-Solent, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and using violence to enter a premises in Melville Road, Gosport on October 10. The 24-year-old was given a 12-month community order and must attend 20 days of rehabilitation activity. He must also do 40 hours of unpaid work.

Balchin was made to pay £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge, after his appearance at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Kevin Forrest, of Apollo Drive, Waterlooville, pleaded guilty to assault in Cheltenham Road, Portsmouth, on August 7.

The 48-year-old was given a two-year community order to attend 48 days of rehabilitation. He must also pay a £250 fine, £60 victim surcharge, £200 costs and a £180 court charge, after his appearance at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.
