TRAIN passengers are being urged to be on their guard for thieves.

Hundreds of officers from British Transport Police took part in a day of action and arrested 18 people in connection with theft offences against passengers last week.

Chief Superintendent Paul Brogden said: ‘We want passengers to be aware of the tactics and distractions used by thieves so they can better protect themselves from becoming a victim.’
