A DRIVER has been spared prison after driving off from a crash.
Benjamin Goodbody, 24, of Glenthorne Meadows, Petersfield, admitted driving without due care and attention, driving without a licence and without insurance, and failing to stop when a crash happened owing to the presence of his vehicle on the road.
All the charges related to a crash between Goodbody’s Vauxhall Astra and a Citroen C3 in Rowlands Castle Road, Horndean, on June 12.
Goodbody also admitted obstructing a police officer.
Portsmouth magistrates imposed an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months as he drove off without checking on the victim.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and must complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities.
Goodbody must pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
