A MAN and woman who committed a string of thefts have been ordered to pay compensation.

Robert Cammerer, 48, and Sharon Lewis, 42, both of Connaught Road, Portsmouth, targeted a Wilkinsons store in West Street, Fareham, five times in less than three weeks.

The pair fled with a cordless hammer drill, a kettle, three cordless screwdrivers, a battery and two sanders between June 13 and July 2.

Then on July 9 they stole £12 of goods from Poundland in Cremer Mall, Fareham.

Cammerer and Lewis were each given a 12-month conditional discharge by Fareham magistrates.

They were ordered to pay £100.50 in compensation and £85 in court costs.

Cammerer and Lewis must also each pay a £15 victim surcharge.
