- Deplorable burglar Clive Callaway tricked his way into homes, stole from people he worked for '“ and took a laptop from a pensioner who had put him up for months rent free.

He was jailed for four years and six months, and the judge said it was '˜an appalling sequnce of offences'.

- Career burglar David Unlacke was jailed for four years after he tried to burgle a home in Portsmouth '“ and was confronted by the homeowners in the kitchen.

After he was discovered he fled the house and hopped across gardens to escape, but police quickly arrived and found him in a nearby garage.

Appearing at Portsmouth Crown Court, Rewcastle pleaded guilty to four counts of being concerned in the production of cannabis, a class B drug, a charge of possession with intent to supply cannabis, two counts of possession with intent to supply cocaine, a class A drug, and possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid / gas / electrical device.
