A CYCLE security event is being held to help reduce bike crime in Southsea.

The Southsea Safer Neighbourhood team has partnered up with the Crime Prevention Advisor to hold the event at Southsea skate park.

Both teams will be offering crime prevention advice and marking bikes. There will also be vouchers available for discounted D-locks from Halfords.

Eastern area crime prevention advisor, Sarah Cohen, said: ‘It is really important to make sure you secure your bike as well as possible, don’t make it easy for thieves.

‘Having your bike marked by us and registered to also means it will be easier for us to return your bike should it be stolen, making it less attractive to thieves.

Come along and see us and make sure you are doing all you can to keep your bike safe.’

The event is being held tomorrow between 10am and 4pm.
