Cyclist, 11, injured in Gosport hit-and-run

A YOUNG girl was injured after a car crashed into her and drove off.

The 11-year-old was cycling across Heritage Way at its junction with Elson Road, Gosport, at 8am yesterday, when a black vehicle collided with her.

She was knocked off her bike and suffered minor injuries.

The girl was treated at Gosport War Memorial Hospital walk-in centre.

The vehicle – described by police as ‘medium-sized’ – continued north along Heritage Way towards the A32 Fareham Road, Hampshire police said.

A spokeswoman added: ‘Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who may have witnesses the collision or who knows the identity of the driver to come forward.’
