A 13-YEAR-OLD cyclist suffered a serious injury to his leg after being hit by a taxi, police said.
The boy came off his bike in the crash in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, near to Iceland, but the taxi drove off.
Police said the vehicle was a silver taxi or private hire vehicle.
The driver stopped initially but then drove away.
A police spokeswoman said: ‘Officers investigating the incident are appealing for the driver of the vehicle to come forward so that the exact circumstances of the incident can be established.
‘They would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision as they may have information which could assist the investigation.’
It happened on Saturday at 4.30pm.
