Cyclist hospitalised after attempted robbery in Portsmouth

A CYCLIST was hospitalised after suffering serious injuries in an attempted robbery.

The 52-year-old man was in the grass area between Holbrook Road and Bridgeside Close, in Landport, Portsmouth when a man demanded the alleged victim’s money and phone.

It happened between 10pm and 11.40pm yesterday.

He left empty-handed but seriously assaulted the victim, who was taken to QA Hospital.

He was mixed race, about 5ft 9ins, skinny, possibly wearing a scarf and had a Portsmouth accent.
