POLICE have named an 83-year-old woman who died four days after a car crash.

Sheila Robertson from Fareham died at Southampton General Hospital with her family at her side on Tuesday afternoon.

She was seriously injured when the green Honda Civic she was travelling in collided with a white Ford Fiesta near the Beverley Grove junction of Portsdown Hill Road, Portsmouth, shortly before 4pm on Friday.

Her 84-year-old husband who was driving the Civic was seriously injured.

He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham for treatment before being transferred to Southampton General Hospital where last night he was recovering.

The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man from Wickham, was unhurt.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the incident happening, to call Sergeant Shaun Hopkins at Fratton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Allerstone.
