Defendant had 'bad intentions' following the death of former Portmsouth students, court hears

A MAN accused of murdering a former University of Portsmouth student had '˜bad intentions' when he delivered a single powerful knock-out punch, a court heard.

Trevor Timon, 31, is standing trial at the Old Bailey after being charged with the murder of banker Oliver Dearlove in the early hours of August 28 last year.

Timonallegedly became ‘very angry’ and was ‘looking for a fight’ before attacking the 30-year-old victim.

Mr Dearlove had spent the night out with old friends.

As they walked to catch a taxi home, they had a ‘friendly chat’ with a group of women known to the defendant who had left Morden’s nightclub.

Timon then came up to Mr Dearlove and his two friends and demanded to know what they had been talking about.

The victim’s friend Andrew Cook said: ‘He had bad intentions, basically. It was more of an aggressive hook.

‘He put everything he could into it. Then Oli just fell to the ground.’ Timon, from Plumstead, south east London, has admitted manslaughter but denies murder.
