Dog muck in Portsmouth back garden lands woman with £1,400 court bill

A WOMAN has been fined £865 for not clearing up dog mess.

Yvette Steers, 47, of Winter Road, Southsea, had been served with a notice under the Environmental Protection Act.

But she failed to remove dog faeces and black plastic bags containing rubbish and excrement from the rear garden, or clean the rear garden on a weekly basis. Steers pleaded guilty to breaching the notice on November 30 last year.

Portsmouth magistrates fined her £865 with £536 costs.
