A DOG walker was threatened and told her pet would be killed.

The victim, a woman in her late 20s, was walking her six-month-old Staffordshire Terrier puppy in Alexandra Park, Northern Parade, Portsmouth between the Mountbatten Centre and Nuffield Health Centre car parks behind the buildings near the tennis court.

She was approached by a man, who started shouting at her to get her dog under control, before he threatened to kill the animal.

The incident happened at 2.40pm on Thursday.

Neither the woman or the dog were hurt, but the victim was left shaken.

The suspect is white, 6ft, stocky and with light stubble.

He wore a blue fleece coat and white trousers – similar to a painter and decorator’s – with a dark beanie hat, and was walking a tan-coloured small terrier.
