Drink-driver banned for 15 months

A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from the roads for more than a year.

Laurence Farr was caught driving a Nissan van in Wakefords Way, West Leigh, on July 30.

Police stopped him and a test revealed he was over the drink-drive limit.

He had 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than the 35mg legal limit.

Farr, 57, of Walton Close, Waterlooville, pleaded guilty to drink-driving on August 16 at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He was banned for 15 months and fined £200.

He must also pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

His ban will be reduced by 15 weeks if he pays for and completes a £250 course.
