A MAN admitted driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

Samuel Martin, 22, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta in Portchester Road, Fareham, while under the influence on February 13.

A test revealed his breath contained 83 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

Martin, of Birdwood Grove, Fareham, was fined £225 and ordered to pay £15 into a fund crime victims by Fareham magistrates.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 20 months.

The ban could be reduced by five months if Martin completes a government-approved driving course.
