DRINK-driver Martyn Baldry has been ordered to stay at home under a curfew.

The 32-year-old cannot leave his flat in Sea Front, Hayling Island, between 8pm and 5am for six weeks.

Baldry was caught driving a Ford Escort van in Boarhunt Road, Fareham.

A breathalyser test revealed he had 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – more than twice the legal limit of 35mg.

Baldry was not insured to drive the van and did not have a full licence.

He was due to appear in court earlier this month but he didn’t turn up.

He pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving without insurance, driving otherwise in accordance with his licence.

He also admitted failing to attend court when he did appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Baldry was banned from driving for two years and told to pay £85 in costs.
